HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa Area Intermediate School District’s Board of Education voted to interview Kyle Mayer for the superintendent’s position, according to a district statement emailed to media.
Mayer is OAISD’s assistant superintendent for instructional services and has been with the district for the last 12 years.
The interview is set for 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, in the Discovery Pavilion at the Outdoor Discovery Center, 4214 56th St.
Members of the community can attend, but will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. People can attend virtually; details are at oaisd.org.
The first step in the search process included an anonymous survey to gather input from local school personnel, parents, business and community leaders, and other interested persons regarding the background, skills and abilities the next leader of OAISD should possess, according to district officials.
An internal application process began mid-September. If a “right fit” candidate does not emerge, an application process for external candidates will open in mid- to late October.
