HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Zeeland City Council is set to meet, starting at 6:30 p.m. for a study session today, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020; and again at 7 p.m. for a business session.
Some members of council will be at Zeeland City Hall, 21 South Elm St. in Zeeland; others will participate electronically. This meeting is open to the public. To join, call 1 (408) 418-9388 and use this access code: 173 190 1165. Expect to keep your phone on mute, except during your turn for the public-comment session. People can also make comments or ask questions to the City of Zeeland by 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting by emailing Clerk@cityofzeeland.com.
The study session will include conversations on a zoning ordinance amendment related to temporary uses and structures permitting; fund balances for special events and the veterans monument; and an employee handbook update. The last employee-handbook update was in 2008.
During the business meeting, council members will vote on shifting some unused money — $2,559.07 left over in 2000 from the Zeeland Veteran’s Park funds, $2,559.07 to the City Park Improvement fund, and $9,320.66, which dates back to the 1997 fund set up for the 150th Sesquicentennial Special Revenue. In 2005 both accounts had been unused for some time, and the money was transferred to the general fund, but otherwise untouched. The $9,320.66 will be transferred to
the Shopping Area Redevelopment Board (SARB) fund, which pays for special events.
