HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Port Sheldown Township car-bike crash sent a 66-year-old Grand Haven woman to the Holland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries just after 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt.Christie Wendt said, in an email to media, deputies dispatched to West Olive Road, just south of Croswell Street, learned a 19-year-old West Olive man, driving a Honda Accord, had been northbound on West Olive Road.
He told police he didn’t see the bike the Grand Haven woman was riding.. She had also been northbound on West Olive Road.
His car hit the rear of the bike. The bicyclist had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. The West Olive man, who was not physically hurt, was ticketed for causing he crash.
