GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A two-vehicle crash hospitalized eight persons south of Grand Haven on Saturday evening.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christopher Dill as first responders were dispatched to Lake Michigan Drive near 158th Avenue just before 5 PM. Investigators say that an eastbound van with nine passengers attempted to turn left into a private driveway and was hit by a westbound SUV that had five passengers on board.
Four passengers in each vehicle were taken to undisclosed “area hospitals” for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The van driver was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way, as the crash remains under investigation.
