ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 34-year-old Grand Rapids man was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday morning at the northern edge of Grand Valley State University’s main campus near Allendale.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong said that the unnamed motorist, driving his sedan westbound on Lake Michigan Drive, apparently had a medical condition arise shortly after 10 AM. His vehicle veered off of the divided highway, struck a guardrail, and came to rest in the middle of the lanes near the junction with North Campus Drive.
The motorist was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of the medical condition, as he apparently did not suffer any injuries as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
