HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A protest against a Holland native has been brought to the Tulip City.
Organizers of a mobile billboard critical of US Education Secretary Betsy DeVos spent Friday in and around Holland toting their message at a variety of venues, including outside of the summer “mansion” of DeVos off of South Shore Drive. Protect Our Public Schools claims that the Secretary and the Trump Administration are “forcing” schools to reopen full time and in person or face “draconian” funding cuts.
The “Stop hiding in your mansion. Start Protecting our Kids” billboard “slams” DeVos “for having no plan, no experience, and offering no meaningful funding for public schools to handle the COVID 19 crisis,” according to a statement by the non-profit group. The Holland stop is part of a statewide tour of the billboard.
