Kenneth John Zeinstra
July 23, 1937 – August 12, 2020
On August 12,2020, Ken Zeinstra, 83, entered Heaven and met his Savior face to face.
He was a faithful member of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church and participated in many areas of ministry there. Additionally he used his carpentry skills for disaster relief in several areas of the United States through the CRC.
Ken loved his family and spend many hours with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always ready to help with a project, build a requested item, or take willing participants to the ice-cream store.
Though he was a carpenter by trade, he loved the land and farmed his whole life. In 1962, Ken and Sharon purchased her grandparent's farm, which is now designated as a Michigan Centennial Farm. He restored his vintage Farmall 350 tractor, which was the first tractor he bought in 1960 and the last tractor he bought when he repurchased it in 2012.
He enjoyed camping and completing puzzles from their trips to all fifty states in the U.S.
Ken is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon, and his four children: Karen and Andy Thomas, Dave and Kathryn Zeinstra, Mark and Carla Zeinstra, and Kenton and Sarah Zeinstra, and his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Jacob Thomas, Justin and Megan Thomas (Layla), Jared and Danielle Thomas, Jon Thomas, Bill and Sara Zeinstra (Parker), Brad and Alexis Zeinstra (Elijah, Audi and Lincoln), Kim Zeinstra, Josie Zeinstra, and Payton Zeinstra. He is also survived by his siblings Evelyn VanderKooi, Wilma and Norm Rotman, Stan Zeinstra, Rob and Betty Zeinstra, and Barb Buist, and his brothers-in-law Irv and Nancy Derks and Elmer and Jan Derks.
Memorials can be given to the Noordeloos Christian Reformed Missions fund.
Visitation will be at Noordeloos CRC, 4055 112th Avenue, Holland on Sunday, August 16 from 1:00-3:00 and 7:30-9:00. The funeral will be held at the church on Monday, August 17 at 10:00 with the Rev. Ronald De Young officiating.
