HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – There is a new helper for those who shop the Holland Farmers Market on Saturdays.
In conjunction with Ottawa Food, a Food Navigator will be on hand to lend a hand, according to Market Master Sara Cozolino. “It can be a bit overwhelming to figure out the market, to find different produce, or to figure out how to make different things,” she said on “WHTC Morning News” during her weekly appearance on Wednesday. “Sometimes vendors can be busy, so she is here to help ‘connect those dots’ for people.”
Chara Bouma-Prediger began her duties last Friday, with an emphasis on those who use public assistance, thanks to Ottawa Food, the collaboration of over 45 agencies and individuals aimed at improving access to healthy, local and affordable food for the community. She is also bi-lingual, fluent in Spanish.
The Holland Farmers Market is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 8 AM to 2 PM, through December 19th. More information is here.
