HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — On his way into work as an emergency room physician, Dr. Rob Davidson posted a live Tweet yesterday.
Dr. Rob Davidson, who treats emergency cases here in West Michigan and unsuccessfully challenged Rep. Bill Huizenga for his seat in the U.S. House, posted a live tweet yesterday, appealing to President Trump for help.
He asked for help getting tests — Michigan and other states still do not have enough — as well as more personal protective equipment, known as ppe.
“I’m still using one, single paper mask for an entire shift, because of shortages of ppe,” he said in the tweet.
In response to nearly 800 replies, many calling healthcare workers heroic, Davidson wrote, “Appreciate the kindness. Truly none of us treating patients want to be thought of as heroes. We just want our Federal government to recognize that we need a massive national response to this #pandemic. No hospital or state can do it alone.”
Davidson told WHTC in an online chat that he is thankful that Huizenga is “taking this seriously,” adding he’d like Huizenga to “consider why we need a national shelter in place” order.
