HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a driver whose vehicle hit a family home in Park Township at 2 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020.
The suspect had been southbound in a vehicle on 159th Avenue when the vehicle left the road, hitting the home at 159th’s dead end, police said. The sound of the crash woke the home’s occupants, who told police they heard sounds of a revving engine — and a second loud crash. Looking out a window, they saw a car turn around in the driveway, heading north on 159th.
On checking outside, the homeowner discovered significant damage to the walls and foundation of the two-stall attached garage. The suspect’s vehicle also dragged away some panels of the garage door that had got entangled with the vehicle.
Deputies found the panels near Waukazoo Drive and Ottawa Beach Road, but were unable to find the suspect’s vehicle, described as a silver mid-size SUV or crossover.
The vehicle should have heavy front end damage, and is missing a passenger side exterior mirror, police said.Anyone with information tp help identify the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call Ottawa County Central Dispatch at 1-800-249-0911 or Silent Observer, 877-88-SILENT.
