HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A single-vehicle crash hurt one person just before 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill said the crash happend on westbound I-96 near 48th Avenue in Wright Township.
Police learned a 62 year-old Muskegon man, at the wheel of a 1999 Ford F-150 choked on a beverage, then lost control of the truck, striking a cable barrier and rolling the truck. He and his two male passengers, ages 73 and 48, were wearing seatbelts. Only the driver needed evaluation at a Grand Rapids-area hospital.
A long section of the barrier was damaged in the crash, and traffic backed up for several miles while a wrecker crew recovered the pickup.
The crash remains under inverstigation.
