HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Does the Lakeshore need another festival?
The City of Holland’s International Relations Commission apparently thinks so. During this evening’s City Council work-study session, Human Relations Coordinator Esther Fifelski is expected to unveil plans for the first annual International Festival of Holland. Set for Saturday, August 17th of next year, the event is intended to feature international entertainment, cuisine and traditions from around the world.
Activities would take place at the Herringa Holland Civic Center Place, as well as Herrick District Library, the Holland Museum and the Holland Area Arts Council building, with other downtown venues sought for hosting entertainment events. Fifelski said that an International Festival Advisory Board, made up of a number of community members, has been formed “to provide assistance in planning and execution of the festival, and to engage community-wide participation,” in a report attached to the agenda for Council’s 5:30 PM session at the Second Floor Training Center in City Hall this evening.
