HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Department of Public Safety officials are saying Michael Johnson, 37, of Allegan, died after being hit by a car while crossing M-40 at Waverly shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018.
Holland Department of Public Safety crash reconstructionists determined Johnson had been walking eastbound across M-40, just south of Waverly, when he was hit by a southbound Honda Odyssey, being driven by a 51 year old Holland man on the road’s inside lane.
A witness driving a northbound vehicle told officers he almost hit Johnson, because he did not see the him until the last second.
