HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The City of Holland is reminding residents that when Hope College students move in next week traffic changes will be in effect.
Move in days for students for the 2017-18 school year will be in effect on Friday, August 25th and Sunday, August 27th, 2017.
To accommodate Hope College as they move in the following changed wil be in effect:
Traffic Flow Changes (8 a.m. until 8 p.m.):East 10th Street, between College Ave. & Columbia Ave, one-way traffic westbound onlyEast 13th Street, between College Ave. & Columbia Ave, one-way traffic eastbound onlyColumbia Ave between East 9th Street &10th Street-closed for unloading, traffic to enter area from 10th Street and exit on 9th Street only.All intersections must remain open.
No Parking to be posted in the following areas (5 a.m. until 5 p.m.):East 10th Street, between College & Columbia-temporary no parking both sidesEast 13th Street, between College & Columbia-temporary no parking both sidesColumbia Ave. between East 9th and East 10th-temporary no parking both sides
Two Holland Police Reserve Officers will assist Hope College Campus Safety Department with traffic control at the corner of 10th St & Columbia Ave, and at 9th St & Columbia Ave. from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and bill Hope College for those services.
Hope College Campus Safety will have a staff member at 10th & Columbia and 9th & Columbia as well.Holland Police Dept. will provide Temporary No Parking signs and stakes to Hope College. No Parking wood stakes will be placed by HPD personnel. Hope College Campus Safety will staple cardboard signs on stakes with hours of parking restrictions.
