HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A toddler remains in critical condition after being airlifted to Devos Children’s Hospital after a four-car pile-up on Tuesday.
The crash sent four people to the hospital after 21-year-old Francisco Ramirez-Pablo was approaching the stopped cars on 136th Avenue in Holland and failed to slow down, struck the back of a vehicle and causing a chain reaction of damage to the other vehicles in the line.
The three-year-old girl Alyviah Martinez is no longer using a breathing tube and had surgery Wednesday according to her Father Jordon Calvo’s Facebook page. Her Mother Marisela Martinez who was treated for injuries along with her Father, have been keeping vigil at Alyviah’s bedside.
A GoFundMe page has been sent up with over $1,600 raised so far.
Her Father released this statement on the GoFundMe page:
“Today, our little Alyviah was critically injured in an accident, where her parents vehicle was rear ended by a truck on the way to take her daddy to work. She definitely took the brunt of the impact as mom and dad are OK and at her bedside. As most young couples trying to do their best, Mari and Jordan are going to need our help to get through the next few weeks. Please help ease some of the burden for them as they struggle to make sense of today’s events and do everything they can to get their monkey back home where she belongs.”
No charges have been filed yet in the crash and the incident is still under investigation. Ramirez-Pablo received serious injuries from the crash and was treated at Holland Hospital.
