HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A Holland man is in the Ottawa County Jail and will face several charges for a crash that killed a Zeeland woman and injured her grandson.
41-year-old Cameron Burrows who already has several infractions on his driving record will be charged with reckless driving causing death, reckless driving causing serious injury and being a fourth-offense habitual offender.
On January 3, Burrows drove through a red light on eastbound Business 196 at apparently full speed and slammed into the side of a northbound car on 104th Avenue. The collision killed 65-year-old Sandra DeBoer and injured her grandson Gavin, while Burrows was treated for serious injuries at Holland Hospital.
MLive reports that police said Burrows had drugs in his system after a toxicology test. According to Secretary of State records dating back to 2000, Burrow’s driving record includes two crashes, disobeying a traffic control device.
Burrows will be arraigned this week in Holland District Court.
