HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Stargazers can check out the stars and Perseid meteor shower this weekend at Holland State Park.
Day-use visitors and campers can bring blankets, bug spray and snacks for “Meteors & S’mores”.
Complimentary s’mores and campfires are part of the celebration. A number of parks are designated as Dark Sky Preserves which are parks that have protection against light pollution and are ideal locations for stargazing says the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Dave Lorenz of Pure Michigan says along the lakeshore, Holland State Park will participate Friday August 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. as well as Muskegon State Park from 8:30-11 p.m.
You’ll have to roadtrip to watch at a State Park on Saturday. Just click here to see where you can.
