HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A 48-year-old contract worker from the Muskegon area has succumbed to a head injury suffered in a Wednesday morning fall off of one of the buildings on the Hope College campus.
David Torrenga died at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital about six hours after the incident, as he was working for East Muskegon Roofing and Sheet Metal Company, a contractor that was repairing the roof of the two-story DePree Art Center and Gallery building off of East 12th Street. First responders said that he was knocked out by the fall, but did regain consciousness before being taken first to Holland Hospital, and then to the downtown Grand Rapids medical facility.
The incident is being investigated.
