HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A Holland man sustained a burn to his arm after a residential fire in Holland Tuesday evening, August 9.
Captain Chris Tinney of the Holland Fire Department says Holland firefighters were dispatched to a fire at 472 Columbia Avenue at 6:28 p.m. Units reported smoke showing from a two-story residence. Firefighters entered the structure and located the fire in the first floor kitchen. The fire was quickly extinguished and firefighters remained on the scene to search for hidden fire and remove debris.
The man was treated on the scene by fire personnel from AMR ambulance and did not require further treatment. All occupants of the home were able to safely escape.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental and most likely the result of a pan of oil on the stove that ignited.
