HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – When the curtain opens at the Holland Civic Theatre‘s production of “12 Angry Jurors”, there will be a different spin on the classic story.
The whole cast is made up of local high school students. The play is set in a jury room where a jury must decide the fate of a 19-year-old man who is accused of murdering his father. The jury votes 11-1 that the man is guilt of the crime. Tempers flare as the eleven jurors try their best to convince the one dissenter to come around to their side.
” Something sticks in juror number 8’s mind and in this case a woman is playing the role Henry Fonda played in the film. The lone juror starts to whittle away at the evidence, looking at it more critically than the others have looked at it.” says Director Michael Culp.
Twelve Angry Jurors is a heightened courtroom thriller that puts you on the edge of your seat while powerfully exploring what it means to live in a democracy says Culp.
The show opens Friday August 11 and runs the following weekend August 18-20. Tickets are available at the box office located at 50 West 9th Street in Holland or online.
