HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tulip Time Executive Director Gwen Auwerda was at last night’s Holland city council meeting to discuss moving their offices into the Civic Center.
Auwerda told WHTC news that their needs were presented in a wish list for a lease agreement which would span over a 20-year time frame for using the Civic Center space. Tulip Time’s lease is up at their current office at 74 W Eighth Street and will expire on May 30, 2017. Genan DeKock who is the developer will be tearing the building down.
Tulip Time which is a non-profit, is requesting 4,000 square feet which is the amount they have now. They would like to include 1,000 square feet for merchandise, ticket sales, a kitchenette, bathrooms and storage space.
Plans are now to meet with the design team. Auwerda says she cannot disclose the other locations they are looking at, but staying downtown is a priority.
