HOLLAND (WHTC) — Grand Rapids resident Angeline Welsh, 91, has died from injuries suffered in a June 11 two-vehicle crash, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Austin.
On Saturday, she was the backseat passenger of a Saturn Ion driven by Muskegon resident Larry Dorwin, 55. Her seatbelt was not buckled.
Neither Dorwin, nor the car’s front-seat passenger, Muskegon resident Christine Dorwin, 58, were harmed; both were wearing seatbelts.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the Ion struck a Ford Econoline driven by Coopersville resident James Lenger, 54, as the two vehicles traveled along Cleveland Street in Polkton Township. Lenger had slowed the Econoline to turn onto 88th Avenue when the crash happened. Lenger was wearing his seatbelt and was unhurt.
Welsh rushed to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in critical condition and died just after noon Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
Austin said the crash remains under investigation.
