GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A 57-year-old Spring Lake bicyclist who was found lying partially submerged in a ditch off of Harbor Island Drive in Grand Haven remains in critical condition. Officers say that Gregory Van Cleve apparently crashed on a slippery wooden part of the Tri-Cities Connector Bike Path in Ferrysburg, just south of the US-31 drawbridge, yet he was able to walk some ways afterward until collapsing. He had no identification on him or was able to communicate when he was found in the ditch. Van Cleve is being treated for a severe head injury at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. The case remains open, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Grand Haven Public Safety.
