HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland Department of Public Safety Fire Services personnel were dispatched to a residential fire at 241 W 33rd Street yesterday evening.
According to Lieutenant John Vander Kooy, light smoke was coming from the roof. Firefighters accessed the home to suppress the fire and search for potential fire spread.
The first floor had minor smoke damage and the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of arrival. Firefighters remained on the scene for over two hours to salvage and confirm no fire had extended beyond the area surrounding the chimney and fire place.
No one was injured and the fire damage is estimated at approximately $15,000.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
