GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – A 49-year-old Indiana man reportedly has confessed to robbing the Consumers Credit Union in South Haven of around 900 dollars earlier this month. Documents filed at US District Court in Grand Rapids claim that Brian Standiford admitted holding up that institution, along with bank branches in Oshtemo and Portage that netted him a total of nearly 49 hundred dollars, in an eight-day span that ended with his arrest following a police chase in Paw Paw on January 13th. Standiford earned the nickname “The Big Bandit” for a similar string of heists in his home state during the 1990’s.
