ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – The city of Zeeland has received a $4,000 grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs for a summertime concert series. The city sought the grant through the Holland Area Arts Council for the Soundz of Summer concert series, which takes place on Tuesday evenings throughout July at the Lawrence Park Bowl. The city has hosted the series since 2008, with Huntington Bank as its main sponsor. More than 20 bands have performed as part of the series, and city officials say attendance has grown to 800-1,000 weekly attendees since the series began.
