HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Under relatively ideal conditions, 15 students from three schools of higher education in Michigan and Ohio competed in the annual Downtown Holland Ice Carving Competition that concluded on Saturday. The climax of the event was the four-hour freestyle event along 8th Street, with Kaitlin Pfropper of Macomb Community College taking top honors with her work “Whipping Wind.” The creations from Friday’s compulsories and Saturday’s free-style competitions will remain on display through the weekend downtown.
