UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — A week long run across the state of Michigan to raise funds for fallen police officers will conclude today in Ottawa County.
Kent County Reserve Officer Matt Garbarino began his run Monday in Pontiac, after a year of planning and training. He is running across the state carrying the Thin Blue Line American Flag, which he has already carried three times in the Fifth Third Riverbank Run.
The purpose is to raise funds for the survivors of fallen police officers. He has his own gofundme page.
The final leg of his run is today through Grand Rapids, to the Grand Valley Campus in Allendale and wrapping up later this afternoon at the Protector Monument at the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office in West Olive.
