UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – Splits of boys/girls matchups highlighted Tuesday night’s high school basketball slate along the Lakeshore, with two notable exceptions.
That involved Holland High, as the Dutch fell twice to Byron Center by scores of 71-65 for the boys and 44-32 for the girls, and Holland Christian, as the Maroons swept Calvin Christian by scores of 53-46 for the boys and 55-39 for the girls. Otherwise, it was West Ottawa’s boys 70, Caledonia 47, with the Scots taking the girls’ game, 63-43; Unity Christian’s boys 58, Zeeland East 42, with the Chix winning the girls’ contest, 54-28; Zeeland West’s boys 59, Hamilton 36, with the Hawkeyes victorious in the girls’ match, 53-15; Saugatuck’s boys 68, Martin 60, with the Clippers capturing the girls’ game, 61-46; Fennville’s boys 66, Lawrence 32, with the Tigers taking the girls’ contest, 58-36; West Michigan Aviation’s boys 66, Black River 34; and Hopkins’ girls 53, Calvary 17.
There will be no high school basketball broadcasts on Friday evening for either 1450 WHTC and the New 99.7 FM, or for the Lakeshore’s 92.7 The Van, due to Hope College MIAA basketball tournament committments. Hear the Flying Dutchmen’s game versus Adrian at 4:40 PM on The Van, followed by the Flying Dutch versus Calvin around 7:10 PM on WHTC.

Viktor Arvidsson’s goal nearly five minutes into the third period proved to be the difference as the visiting Nashville Predators defeated the Red Wings last night, 3-2. Detroit hosts the Buffalo Sabres at Little Caesars Arena tomorrow evening, with broadcast time at 7:10 PM on 1450 WHTC and the New 99.7 FM.
The Chicago Blackhawks welcome the Ottawa Senators to the United Center tonight.
