FRUITPORT TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – An attempted abduction of a high school girl occurred in Fruitport Township Wednesday, September 27.
Authorities say it happened in the morning as the girl was walking to school on Pontaluna Road by 6th Street. A man drove up as the girl was walking to school and repeatedly asked her if she wanted a ride. The girl ran off when the man demanded she get into his vehicle.
Police have described the vehicle as faded yellow van with a rusty bottom. The driver is described as a balk white man in his 40’s or 50’s with glasses and a mustache.
Patrols have been increased around the Fruitport School District and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Fruitport Police Department at (231) 865-8477.
