NORTON SHORES, MI (WHTC) – Attempted abduction suspect Jeffrey Willis has been upgraded to a person of interest in the Jessica Herringa case.
He may be charged this week in the murder of Rebekah Bletsch. Willis is charged with the attempted abduction of a 16-year-old girl this spring. Heeringa vanished from a Norton Shores gas station where she was working on April 26th, 2013, while Bletsch was shot and killed while jogging in Dalton Township in June 2014.
Norton Shore Police issued a news release stating officials as well as federal, state, county and city law enforcement agencies are interviewing people close to Willis to determine if there were any connections to Herringa.
Police say when they have enough evidence to believe Willis is responsible for the disappearance of Jessica Herringa, they will release a statement.
