HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Three people were injured in a four-car crash in Georgetown Township Wednesday afternoon, August 3.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Eric Westveer says Lorraine VanHemert, 67 of Jenison was westbound on 44th Street when she failed to stop at a red light approaching Eighth Avenue around 5:21 p.m.
VanHemert struck a vehicle driven by Tammy Lewis, 52 of Hudsonville which was then pushed into a vehicle driven by Jason Tutsh, 52 of Hudsonville. Tutsh’s vehicle then slammed into Nellie DeVries’ vehicle.
Georgetown Township Fire Rescue had to extricate Lewis who was pinned in her vehicle. She was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids and listed in fair condition.
VanHemert who was also injured declined treatment at the scene. Tutsch received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. DeVries was not injured in the crash.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
