HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tonight is The Holland Rescue Mission will host the Annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet for those in need.
The event started over 20 years ago at various locations including the Civic Center. It is now in it’s fourth year at the Devos Field House on the campus of Hope College.
People from all walks of life attend the banquet. According to the Missions Executive Director Darryl Bartlett, the event creates an intersection of people who would not normally meet. Patrons will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and break bread with someone they have never met from different economic backgrounds.
Families who have registered with the Mission will receive care boxes filled with hygiene items that were donated from various churches, business and residents in Holland.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. The event is free to the public.
