GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – A 22-year-old Jenison man was sentenced to probation and community service following a fatal crash last fall in suburban Grand Rapids. Max Jurewicz didn’t contest misdemeanor charges stemming from the September 13th incident in which his SUV ran a red light on 44th Street at Burlingame Avenue and slammed into a car, killing its driver, 19-year-old Christian Goudy of Wyoming, and injuring his 18-year-old passenger. Jurewicz claimed that the sun was in his eyes and couldn’t see the signal. He could spend six months in the Kent County Jail if he doesn’t abide by the terms of his suspended sentence.
