HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Deputies were dispatched to 136th Avenue and Panther Drive in Holland Township in the overnight hours to a car versus pedestrian accident.
A vehicle driven by Jamie Esponosa, 18, of Holland was eastbound on Panther Drive with two 15-year-old Holland residents in the back seat when one of the asked to be let out.
According to Sgt. Jay Douglas with the Ottaw County Sheriff’s Office, one of the juvenile backseat occupants got upset and asked for the car to be stopped so they could get out. Before the car could be brought to a complete stop, one of the backseat occupants exited the vehicle and had their foot run over.
The subject whose name is being withheld, due to being a minor was treated at the scene by Ottawa County Oaramedics and AMR ambulance. The subject was taken to Holland Hospital and is in good condition after being treated for minor injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the case.
The incident remains under investigation.
