CROCKERY TWP, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Deputies were dispatched to Leonard Road and 136th Ave in Crockery Twp yesterday evening when a motorcyclist was injured in a crash.
The driver of the motorcycle is a 61-year-old Grand Rapids resident whose name is being withheld pending arraignment.
According to Sgt. Jay Douglas with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the motorcyclist was eastbound on Leonard Road when he lost control going around a curve in the roadway. This caused him to be thrown from the motorcycle before landing in a ditch on the south side of the road.
The driver was wearing a helmet and treated at the scene before being transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital. He is now being lodged at the Ottawa County jail on charges related in the crash. Alcohol was a factor in the crash.
