UNDATED (WHTC) – Three total persons were hospitalized in two separate crashes in northern Ottawa County on Friday.
A 22-year-old Spring Lake man was going the wrong way on US-31 north of Grand Haven before dawn. According to deputies, Brandon Brown was northbound on the southbound lanes before his vehicle veered to the right, careened off of a guardrail, smacked a southbound vehicle and came to rest on a pillar under the Ridge Street overpass in Ferrysburg. Brown was initially listed in stable condition at North Ottawa Community Hospital; the other driver involved wasn’t hurt.
Meanwhile, a Nunica couple had to be extricated from their vehicle after it was hit by a truck that went through a stop sign north of Coopersville at mid-afternoon. Deputies say that 61-year-old Noah Rogers was driving with his 55-year-old wife Nancy along Cleveland Street when it was broadsided by the vehicle of 30-year-old Kenneth Hall, going northbound on 68th Avenue. Mr. & Mrs. Rogers were initially listed in stable condition at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital; Hall was not hurt.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
