Sam Allbritten Selected as MIAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Hope College kicker Sam Allbritten has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Football Special teams Player of the Week.
The senior from Warsaw, Indiana (Warsaw HS) is receiving the honor for the first time in his football career.
Allbritten connected on a 24-yard field goal and was a perfect on 7-for-7 extra-point kicks during a 52-33 One Big Weekend victory against Albion College on Saturday at Smith Stadium.
He accounted for 10 of Hope’s point total.
VOLLEYBALL
Tracy Westra Named MIAA Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week
Hope College's Tracy Westra has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week.
The sophomore setter from Clarendon Hills, Illinois (Timothy Christian HS) tallied a total of 35 assists over two victories for the Flying Dutch last week against Kalamazoo College and Trine University.
Last Wednesday, Westra recorded 11 assists and three kills during a three-set victory against Kalamazoo.
Westra then collected 24 assists, and adding three kills, during a three-set victory against Trine University on Saturday.
She is averaging 5.50 assists per set in MIAA competition.
This is Westra's first MIAA Volleyball Player of the Week Award.

Grant Williams Chosen as MIAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Hope College’s Grant Williams has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Diver of the Week.
The junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) is honored after posting a NCAA Division III regional-qualifying score in 3-meter diving during a meet at Saginaw Valley State University last Saturday.
Williams won on the 3-meter board with a score of 295.55 points.
He also finished first on the 1-meter board with a total of 246.0 points.
This is the fourth time in his career Williams has been selected the MIAA Men’s Diver of the Week and the first time this season.
MEN’S SWIMMING
Daniel Keith Selected as MIAA Men's Swimmer of the Week
Hope College’s Daniel Keith has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Swimmer of the Week.
The junior from Saline, Michigan (Saline HS) clocked some of the fastest times in NCAA Division III during the season-opening Oakland University Relays on Saturday.
Keith led off four relays and recorded splits that ranked third in the nation in the 200-yard freestyle at 1 minute, 43.65 seconds, third in the 100 backstroke at 52.69 seconds, third in the 50 freestyle at 21.56 seconds and fifth in the 100 freestyle at 47.17 seconds.
Keith competed in five events during the meet.
This is the fourth time in his career Keith has been named the MIAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week and the first time this season.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Tarah Lang Named MIAA Women's Swimmer of the Week
Hope College’s Tarah Lang has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
In her first collegiate meet, the freshman from Marshall, Michigan (Marshall HS) posted the seventh-fastest time in the 800-yard freestyle relay in NCAA Division III during the Oakland University Relays last Saturday.
Lang clocked a split of 1 minute, 59.11 seconds.
Lang also started the 1,500 freestyle relay with a MIAA-leading split of 5:27.06.
Lang swam in Hope’s 300 freestyle relay with a split of 1:02.4, anchored the 200 freestyle relay with a split of 25.25 and recorded a 55.8-second split in the 400 freestyle relay.
