HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A local non-profit is slowly getting back on its feet.
Officials with the Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity say that they will begin accepting donations on Tuesday for their ReStore off the Riley Street on Holland’s North Side. This is a “soft” reopening in the wake of the enforced “Stay Home, Stay Safe” gubernatorial executive order closure, and those wish to make a donation can do so by calling for a scheduled appointment (616-399-7006) between 9 AM and 5 PM.
“In addition,” says the non-profit in an email statement, “we will begin selling a limited selection of product online through Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. Follow the Holland ReStore on social media for up-to-date information.”
Lakeshore Habitat also announced that work on two current build sites that was halted by “Stay Home, Stay Safe” will open up for the resumption of construction this Thursday, May 7th. “We will be developing a plan to safely allow volunteers to return to our build sites,” the non-profit explained, “and will communicate that plan once it is finalized.”
As a part of the global “Giving Tuesday” initiative set for May 5th, Consumers Energy will match a dollar for every two dollars given to Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity on that day.
