GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI – An 83-year-old Grand Haven man was hospitalized in a crash of his moped south of Grand Haven on Sunday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, first responders were dispatched to Lake Avenue near Shiawassee Drive around 10:30 AM. The unnamed man had apparently failed to negotiate a curve in the road at that juncture, fell off of his moped, and slid across the drive.
The motorist was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of injuries that were initially “not thought to be life threatening,” according to Wildfong, who added that the incident remains under investigtion.
