HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 14-year-old boy was shot by accident, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Wildfong, because he and a 17-year-old boy were playing with guns in a Tallmadge Township home, at 1342 N White St.
As they scuffled, one tried to take a gun from the other, and in the struggle, the gun fired.
The bullet hit 14-year-old’s upper arm.
Police called his injury non-life-threatening. He went by ambulance to Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment.
Police have tentatively called this an accident during horseplay, but the incident remains under investigation.
