HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County resident Dennis Lee Bowman was turned over to members of the Norfolk, VA, Police Department and Virginia State Police Special Investigations unit today, Feb. 7, 2020, according to a statement emailed to media from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
Police made the transfer at the West Michigan Regional Airport. Bowman is going to Virgina to face charges relating to the 1980 rape and murder of Kathleen Doyle.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police in transporting Bowman to the airport, and police say he was turned over without incident.
Allegan County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the possibility that Bowman is responsible for the disappearance of his 14-year-old adopted daughter, Aundrea Bowman, who disappeared in 1989. On Wednesday, police discovered human remains buried under a concrete slab on Bowman’s property.
