DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Evgeny Svechnikov to a one-year contract extension.
Svechnikov had 25 points and 61 penalty minutes in 51 games with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins and also appeared in four games with Detroit last season.
He was originally drafted by the Red Wings in the first round in 2015 and missed the 2018-19 season with a knee injury.
