HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two persons from Oklahoma were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Hudsonville on Sunday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, a westbound SUV on I-196, driven by a 51-year-old man from the Detroit suburb of Clarkston, was in the left lane east of the 32nd Avenue exit. That vehicle had slowed for traffic ahead in this stretch of the ongoing road construction project in the area.
A sedan, driven by a 70-year-old man from Oklahoma, with a 69-year-old woman as a passenger, was behind the SUV, but “could not slow down in time and rearended” the SUV, according to Wendt.
The older couple were taken to Metro Health in Wyoming for treatment of non-life threatening injuries; the SUV driver was not hurt.
No names were disclosed as the crash remains under investigation.
