HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Chorale organizers are making an appeal for public support. In an email to fans and the media, chorale officials noted getting their 60th-anniversary season off to a tremendous start in October. They performed a free community concert, followed by the gift of a free concert to the community, followed by The Glory of Christmas; in December.
But the big March anniversary weekend was abruptly canceled with the influx of COVID-19, along with the Tulip Time concert, the annual fundraiser and a collaboration with the Holland Symphony Orchestra for Beethoven’s 9th was also canceled.
The cancellations mean the chorale has lost a major source of funding, so organizers are asking for donations — that could come in the form of not asking for ticket refunds and for sponsoring a future artist or event.
