Jake AmRhein’s five-yard touchdown pass to Darece Roberson with just over six minutes left in the third quarter snapped a 17-17 tie, and visiting Wayne State blanked Grand Valley State in the second half en route to a regular season-ending 31-17 victory at Lubbers Stadium on Saturday. The Lakers are not expected to earn a NCAA Division II football tournament berth, as back-to-back losses ended its campaign at 8-3.

Sydney Muller led a balanced Hope attack with 11 points as the basketball Flying Dutch handled visiting Hanover at DeVos Fieldhouse on Saturday, 80-30. Now 4-0 on the season, the Orange and Blue women take on Case Western at a tournament in Mt. Union of Ohio next Friday.
Grand Valley State’s basketball teams are in action on Sunday afternoon, with the women entertaining Lewis at the Fieldhouse Arena, and the men traveling to Indianapolis.
