HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Holland Department of Public Safety has named Ryan VanPutten 2018 Firefighter of the Year.
VanPutten was nominated by multiple peers for his positive attitude, constant willingness to help others and put in extra effort, and his calm demeanor.
Public safety officials indicated the multiple nominations are one clue that VanPutten is a model fire fighter who is always professional and inherently represents the department’s core values.
His constant willingness to do community involvement tasks and training, and his excellent skills as a firefighter are well-known.
In his four years as a Holland firefigher, VanPutten made a great impression on his co-workers and supervisors. His work ethic, customer service, and positive attitude are traits his fellow firefighters notice and appreciate.
Holland Department of Public Safety officials emailed a statement with the announcement, saying they “are thankful for Ryan’s dedication to the fire department and this community.”
