UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – Ethan Bublitz tossed in 19 points as Wisconsin-Stevens Pointe defeated visiting Hope on Saturday, 74-65. Losers in three of their last four games, the Flying Dutchmen return to action on Dec. 17, facing Finlandia at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, with broadcast coverage around 7 PM on The Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van.
Hope scored as many points in the first quarter – 16 – as Calvin did in the entire first half, as the Flying Dutch cruised past the Knights at Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids on Saturday, 64-38. Sydney Muller and Kenedy Schoonveld each tallied 11 points for the Orange and Blue, who hosts Albion at DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland next Saturday, with broadcast time at 2:40 PM on 99 7 and 1450 WHTC.
For the second time in three days, Grand Valley State made mincemeat of two teams from a visiting GLIAC school. At the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale on Saturday, the Lady Lakers first demolished Purdue-Northwest, 74-46, as Cassidy Boensch had 27 points and 15 rebounds for GVSU. In the nightcap of the twin-bill, Jake Van Tubbergen scored 22 points and Ben Lubitz added 21 as the men pounded the Pride, 78-53. Grand Valley State returns to hoops action next Saturday with another doubleheader, this time versus Davenport in Caledonia.

Detroit begins a home-and-home set with the Jets in Winnipeg on Tuesday evening, but because of high school basketball coverage (Zeeland West at West Ottawa 6:40 PM), the rematch at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday night is the next broadcast of Red Wings hockey on 99 7 and 1450 WHTC, starting at 7:10 PM.
