HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Josh Glerum is Zeeland East’s new athletic director, after a 5-year stint in the same role for Western Michigan Christian High School in Norton Shores. He’ll also be Cityside Middle School’s athletic director and starts his new job on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018.
“We are truly excited about what our Chix will achieve through Josh’s leadership,” said ZEHS principal Jessica Knoth in a statement emailed to media. “His leadership equally demonstrates a high level of competency and character.”
Glerum succeeds Tim Ritsema, now Jenison Public Schools’s athletic director.
“My family and I are incredibly excited to transition to Zeeland,” Glerum said, in the Zeeland district’s statement. “I’m honored to be a part of the Chix athletic program and look forward to building on that legacy while working with our coaching staff and student-athletes.”
Glerum’s resume includes jobs as a high school social studies teacher, physical education teacher, and assistant athletic director. He earned a master’s degree in athletic administration at Endicott College. He plans to relocated to the Zeeland area in the next few months, along with his wife Rochelle, and the couple’s two children.
