HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Holland City Council study session last night, Wed., Sept. 12, 2018, highlighted some questions by city officials — about everything from what is an appropriate mix of affordable housing programs, how where those homes should be, and what are the appropriate roles of the city and taxpayers, as far as footing the bill.
Holland-based Housing Next executive director Ryan Kilpatrick has been working with city officials to sort it all out, talking about market-based solutions for creating more housing choices.
Kilpatrick worked on some 50 housing projects for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation over four years.
He is the featured speaker tonight as the Holland Area League of Women Voters kick off their current season by highlighting affordable housing issues, starting at 7 p.m. at the Macatawa Bay Yacht. For free reservations contact lwvholland@gmail.com.
